BRUCE H.
It wasn’t the first time that Bruce Hickerman had bought a steel building before, but it was the first that he had partaken in erecting.
“I own a farm in Elmore, Ohio,” says Hickerman. “I’ve purchased prefabricated steel structures before but never for my property. I decided to investigate online, and see what there was to offer.”
In the summer of 2005, he came across Union Steel in his Internet search, and decided he would like to purchase a 60 X 115 X 16 building.
“It’s stone gray I think with a blue roof,” assesses Hickerman. “I had overhangs added to it, and was fairly straight forward from start to finish.”
Although he different contractors assist him, he put up the building himself in two to three weeks in October 2005.
“I had it done right before the winter came,” recalls Hickerman. “I had never constructed a steel building before so I had to be careful when putting up the beams. I moved a few girts and purlins to adjust but nothing major. In fact I was impressed how easy it went up with no problems. It’s a nice building that Union Steel supplies. All the hardware was there. I didn’t have to make one call. All the plans were good. The delivery was on time. I would go through them again.”
